You can't get divorced with a few clicks of the mouse. It just doesn't happen. Divorce is a legal and formal process that takes anywhere from 90 to 180 days to complete.

Beware of "Demo Accounts" and software generated divorce forms!
A demo account is a good indication that automated software will prepare your divorce forms online without human supervision or review.

Avoid Divorce Kits or freely distributed blank divorce forms!
Unless you are a lawyer or certified paralegal and get your forms directly from the local courthouse, avoid divorce kits and blank forms as they can set you up for failiure.

Take advantage of free legal advice and consultations!
Most lawyers, in an effort to get clients, give free no-obligation consultations over the phone where you can get answers to your legal questions. Try a few in your local area.

Beware of cheap "starting at" pricing lawyers use to get you!
Beware of open ended pricing. What seems like a good deal at first is usually just the initial retainer fee. Read the small print and ask questions or you could end up in debt.

Don't ask court staff (especially court clerks) any legal questions!
Court staff is not allowed to answer legal questions by law. Often, by default, you will hear: "get a lawyer" in response... so don't be surprised.

Most of the time you don't have to bring your spouse to the hearing!
In most states your spouse does not have to attend the final hearing for an uncontested divorce case... which allows many to get divorced from a missing or military spouse.
- Don't pay more for Divorce in the Military!
You shouldn't have to pay additional fees for getting divorced while in the military. It isn't too different. Anyone wanting to charge more for Military Service, should be avoided.
